At the Penn Ridge KC show in New Hope, PA, Sophie was awarded Winners Bitch for her second three point major. At this particular show, the club offered a puppy competition which we did not realize until we were handed an orange ribbon. So we rested up and returned to the ring for the Terrier Puppy Group. Just prior to the Puppy Group, the adult Terrier Group competition took place with Sophie's uncle, BIS Ch. Gleanntan Gee Whillikers taking Group 1 under judge Gary Doerge. Sophie then entered the ring for the Puppy Group competition under a different judge and was also awarded Group 1.

As she approaches her eighth month, Sophie continues to make waves from the Puppy class. At the Annapolis Kennel Club show, Sophie took Winners Bitch and then proceeded to win Best of Opposite Sex over two bitch Specials for a three point major.

August 27, 2000 - Best Puppy in Match - Columbia Terrier Association of Maryland
Sophie was awarded Best Puppy in Match at the Columbia Terrier Association of Maryland's Annual Match today. The total terrier entry on this day was 65. Our special thanks to Smooth Fox Terrier breeder/judge Judith Franklin for this honor.

October 8, 2000 - Best in Sweepstakes - Skye Terrier Club of America National Specialty
One of our favorite activities of the Skye Terrier Club of America National Specialty weekend is the Sweepstakes competition for puppies under 12 months of age and juniors from 12 to 18 months of age. What makes the STCA Specialty/Montgomery venue special is the fact that this show attracts serious terrier people - dedicated breeders, current and future judges and committed owners/exhibitors. To have an opportunity to present one's promising youngster to such a group is a thrill and honor that is unsurpassed.

At the Skye Terrier Club of America National Specialty - Montgomery County Kennel Club, Sophie achieved Best Puppy in Sweepstakes from 9 to 12 Months Bitch Class under judge Virginia Latham Smith. Sophie then advanced to meet the Best Junior in Sweepstakes dog and she was given the nod for Best in Sweepstakes. This wonderful day will long be remembered!

Sophie earned her final two championship points today at the Upper Potomac Valley Kennel Club show under judge Mrs. Robert D. (Polly) Smith. Handling Sophie to her championship was co-owner, Maida Connor. We are proud of Sophie's many accomplishments at such a young age. More importantly, her sweet, gentle temperament make her a joy to live with.

Just two weeks before her first birthday, Sophie was entered in her first shows as a Special. At the Lehigh Valley Kennel Club show, she took Best of Breed honors with Best of Opposite Sex going to a four year old male Special.

December, 2000 - Featured in Skye Ways!
Sophie is featured in the Canadian Skye Terrier newsletter, Skye Ways! Editor Karin Armstrong had an opportunity to see Sophie at the National Specialty and wrote the following in the December issue of Skye Ways!: "This absolutely gorgeous little bitch, born December 28, 1999, won the Puppy Sweepstakes at Montgomery, went on to win her championship shortly thereafter... To me, the outstanding feature of this lovely Skye is the way she showed - with enthusiasm, vitality and spirit. I think she is breathtaking. Do watch for her in the future: she is a powerhouse!"
