December 8, 2017 - Northeastern MD & Chesapeake KC shows

On December 2-3, there were four Skyes entered (3-0-1-0) in the Chesapeake KC and the Northeastern Maryland KC shows in West Friendship, Maryland. Our entry consisted on 9-month old Gleanntan Flying Over Lindisfarne - "Cuthbert" competing in the Bred by Exhibitor class. Allen Smith had Cuthbert's litter brother, Gleanntan Nonesuch Skye Rocket in Flight - "Brody" entered in the 9-12 month Puppy class. These were Brody's first shows. Our friend Judy Fatzinger had her young male Linum The Juggler - "Dewey" entered and I handled him both days. On Saturday, under judge Charles Olvis, Dewey earned Winners Dog for 2 points and Cuthbert was Reserve. On Sunday, under judge Andrew Kramer, Dewey again earned Winners Dog for 2 points and Cuthbert earned Reserve Winners Dog.

November 27, 2017 - The Maryland Turkey Cluster

This past weekend (November 25-26), we had two Skyes entered in the Rock Creek KC and Upper Marlboro KC shows in West Friendship, Maryland. Our entry consisted on 9-month old Gleanntan Flying Over Lindisfarne - "Cuthbert" competing in the 9-12 month Puppy class and 21-month old Gleanntan Wrong Way Corrigan - "Corey" competing in the Bred by Exhibitor class. The total Skye entry was 3-0-0-0 with the third class dog competing in the Open class.

On Saturday, under judge Rodney Herner, Corey earned Winners Dog & Best of Breed for 2 points. On Sunday, under judge Dr. Anthony DiNardo, Corey again earned Winners Dog (2 points) & Best of Breed for 2 points. Cuthbert earned Reserve Winners Dog.

November 18, 2017 - Kennel Club of Philadelphia (National Dog Show)

We were just entered on Saturday at the KC of Philadelphia show. Our friend, Antoinelle Szwed had her 9-month old "Archer" - Gleanntan Sure Shot Grey Joy entered on Saturday. We had our young special, 11-month old "Poppy" - Ch. Gleanntan Angels' Gift entered as well. The total Skye entry was 2-1-2-2 under judge Michael Buckley.

I am happy to report that Archer earned his first point, going Winners Dog. In the Best of Breed competition, Poppy earned Best of Opposite Sex over another (older) bitch special.

October 22, 2017 - Laurel Highlands Kennel Association and Upper Potomac Valley KC

On the weekend of October 21 and 22, we had two Skyes entered in the Laurel Highlands Kennel Association and Upper Potomac Valley KC shows in Cumberland, Maryland. Our entry consisted on 8-month old Gleanntan Flying Over Lindisfarne - "Cuthbert" competing in the 6-9 month Puppy class and our special, GCHS. Dexter Jetser Bohemia Skywalker. In addition, our friend Judy Fatzinger had her young male Linum The Juggler - "Dewey" entered. The total Skye entry was 2-0-2-0.

On Saturday, under judge Charles Olvis, Dewey earned Winners Dog for a point. On Sunday, under judge Robert Hartinger, Dewey repeated at Winners Dog for another point.

October 14-15, 2017 - Catonsville KC and National Capital KC

October 5, 6, 7 and 8, 2017 - Montgomery County KC - STCA National Specialty Weekend

September 25, 2017 - 59th Ligonier Highland Games

Seven of our Skye Terriers participated in the 59th Ligonier Highland Games on Saturday. Visitors had opportunities to interact with Skyes ranging in age from 7.5 months to 11 years. Our “A-Team” this year included GCHB. Gleanntan Gaelforce - “Cooper”, Gleanntan Ocean of Light - “Sunny”, GCHB. Gleanntan First Lady of the Skyes - “Amelia”, Gleanntan Wrong Way Corrigan - “Corey”, Gleanntan Flying Over Lindisfarne - “Cuthbert”, Gleanntan Something Special Coming At Ya - “Wiggins” and Finnsky Wildrose - “Rose”. We feel it is important that the general public have opportunities to meet purebred dog breeders at events like this. Here, in a casual setting, people get to ask questions about the Skyes and to learn how responsible breeders are working to keep their breed alive for future generations. We were heartened by the number of people who truly appreciated seeing these strong representatives of Scottish heritage.

September 16-17, 2017 - Lehigh Valley KC and Berks County KC

We had a fun day at the Lehigh Valley KC show. GCHS. Dexter Jetser Bohemia Skywalker earned Best of Breed in a field of 7 Skyes. Winners Bitch, Best of Winners & Best of Opposite Sex (3-point major) went to 9-month old Gleanntan Angels' Gift - "Poppy" from the Bred by Exhibitor class. 7-month old Gleanntan Something Special Coming At Ya - "Wiggins" made his ring debut and he showed nicely.

August 12-13, 2017 - Penn Ridge KC and Harrisburg KC

August 4, 5 and 6, 2017 - Steel Valley Cluster 2017 - STCA Supported Entry shows

July 8-9, 2017 - Upper Marlboro KC and National Capital KC

June 17-18, 2017

On June 17 and 18, we had three Skyes entered in the Bryn Mawr KC shows in Ludwig's Corner, PA. Our entry consisted on 6-month old Gleanntan Angels' Gift - "Poppy" competing in her first shows; 16-month old Gleanntan Belcourt's Belle of the Ball - "Sophie" who needed just a single point to complete her AKC championship; and GCHS. Dexter Jetser Bohemia Skywalker - "Dexter". On Saturday, under judge Esther Joseph, Sophie earned the final point for her title with Poppy going Reserve Winners Bitch. Dexter earned Best of Breed. On Sunday, under judge Robert Hutton, Poppy earned Winners Bitch for her first point. Sophie was Reserve Winners Bitch. Dexter again earned Best of Breed.

May 6, 2017 - Bucks County KC

On Saturday, May 6, we competed in the Bucks County KC show in Erwinna, Pennsylvania. The total Skye entry was 0-2-2-0. Our entry consisted of 14-month old Gleanntan Belcourt's Belle of the Ball - "Sophie" and GCHS. Dexter Jetser Bohemia Skywalker - "Dexter". There was one other class bitch and one other male special. Under judge Kathi Brown, Sophie earned Winners Bitch and Best of Opposite Sex for a point towards her AKC championship. Dexter earned Best of Breed.
